You will be investing in…

  1. Your own mental health and well-being as flowers have been scientifically shown to decrease stress, anxiety, and depression, as well as have a direct physiological correlation to overall health maintenance and healing. Read for more information: How Can Flowers and Their Colors Promote Individuals' Physiological and Psychological States during the COVID-19 Lockdown? International journal of environmental research and public health, 18(19), 10258.

  2. Reducing your carbon footprint by fostering your personal connection with a local producer;

  3. Supporting environmentally sustainable horticulture practices (versus unsustainable practices used widely by international cutting flower producers and importers). (Read CBC article: The flower industry has a thorny environmental problem — and plastic is just part of it).

  4. Reducing waste on a multi-factor scale (ie resources waste, financial waste, material waste, time waste, etc);

  5. The long-term viability of a local business and the hardworking individuals who dedicate their lives to cultivating beauty and joy.

"Who might be interested in subscribing to a CSA floral service?"

  • Floral bouquets and arrangements can add a touch of color and freshness to corporate or professional environments. They can be placed in reception areas, board rooms, entrances, foyers, and hallways to create a positive and energetic work atmosphere that can be enjoyed by clients and temporary visitors to the establishment alike. You can sign up for weekly or bi-weekly delivery of multiple CSA packages and sizes to meet your company's needs. It's a great way to contribute to a welcoming and vibrant corporate/professional space.

  • Do you live in a small space or don't have enough room or the resources to grow flowers? If so, a floral CSA package might be just what you need! These packages are popular among people who live in apartments, dorms, or assisted living complexes. With weekly or bi-weekly deliveries of fresh flowers, you can enjoy the colors of summer indoors without any hassle or equipment. Plus, you won't need any extra space.

  • Would you like to have fresh flowers without the effort involved in growing them? Here's a reliable and cost-effective solution for you!

  • Receive CSA flower bouquets or arrangements weekly/biweekly.

  • Payment will be obtained in a lump sum for a min of 8 or 12 weeks depending on subscription(typically June-September). If a client wants to opt for a longer period that is possible and negotiable.

  • Delivery is available as a thank you for customer loyalty at no extra charge within Red Deer City limits.

  • No option to skip a delivery, however, the client may call or email HGH and request a weekly delivery to be diverted to a different address within Red Deer City limits. Request to divert delivery must be made no less than 24 hours in advance.

  • Despite its rarity, crop failures can happen. Part of being in a CSA program is assuming some of the risks that the farmer experiences through the growing season. For this reason, no refunds are offered. Your investment is important for sustaining local farm economies.

  • The deliveries will be made weekly on designated delivery days set by HGH. Biweekly deliveries are an option.

  • HGH reserves the right to alter the delivery schedule if required. Notification of delivery schedule alteration will be discussed with the client no less than 24 hours in advance to determine an alternative delivery date if necessary.

  • By subscribing to the CSA program, the client will be guaranteed farm fresh flower bouquets or arrangments every week over other customers (i.e. farmers market customers and farmstore sales).

  • Packages CAN be tailored to meet client needs and wants. Please inquire for further discussion on this possibility. For example, some people do not like scented flowers and would not want flowers like lilies or lavender included in their bouquets.

  • Client has the option to choose different bouquet or arrangement sizes as well. For example, a client can commit to a small bouquet for 4 weeks and a large bouquet for 4 weeks. The only requirement is a total commitment of at least 12 weeks for bouquets and 8 weeks for arrangements. This option may be desirable for obtaining early and late-season flowers when production changes at HGH or if the client would like to gift their bouquet to someone else.
